Friday July 24, 2015 Pedro “Mr. Pete” departed at the age of 82. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Evelyn (Shorthouse) Gutierrez, brother Joseph, sister Jennie (Boyko), grandson, John Michael Lash, stepson Timothy Shorthouse, and good friend Richard Kowalski. Mr. Pete is survived by his son Joseph A. Gutierrez (Melissa) and his granddaughter Gabbie, sisters Alice Boyd and Julia Kowalski, and his brothers Arthur J.(Rita) and William (Nancy). He also is survived by his stepchildren: Robert Shorthouse, Cathy Knapick (Rich), Dennis Shorthouse (Jackie), Dea Lash (Glenn), Cheryl Rogowski (John), Sharon Brown (Bill), Sammy Shorthouse (Tammy), in addition to 17 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and the many others that loved him. He was retired from US Steel, and Peachbottom Nuclear Power Plant. In his retirement he enjoyed the stock market and loved to offer suggestions.
Arrangements
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday 10:00am, August 12, 2015 at St. Robert Bellarmine, 1313 5th Ave., East McKeesport. Interment will follow at New St. Joseph Cemetery and the family has extended an invitation for all attendants to return to St. Robert’s Church Hall for lunch.
