Francis J. “Frank” Kordalski Sr., 77, of White Oak, passed away peacefully from a short battle with several health issues. He was born on May 22, 1949, in New Kensington, Pennsylvania. Frank graduated from Arnold High School in 1967 and went on to further his education at the University of Dayton. He later obtained an Associate of Science degree in Specialized Technology from Penn Technical Institute. Frank also continued his studies at Point Park College (now known as the University) and Duquesne University, where he received a Master of Arts in Leadership and Liberal Studies in 1999.
Frank had a distinguished career, working with several organizations, including Saxon Industries in New York City, Westinghouse, and various engineering firms such as Bailey’s and Eichleay’s Engineers. He later led his own company, Renova Automation, and served as a part-time instructor at Point Park University (until 2018), and as an instructor from 2004 to late 2006 at Penn State University-Greater Allegheny campus. His dedication to education later led him to the role of Director, then Dean of Technology, at the Westmoreland County Community College Advanced Technology Center, from which he retired in late 2017 after joining the college in the fall of 2010.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Karen (Kukurin) Kordalski of White Oak, and his two sons, Frank Jr. (Wendie) of Imperial and Michael, also of White Oak. Additionally, Frank is survived by a sister, Christine (Arthur) Ramaley, and many nephews, nieces, and cousins. In retirement, Frank enjoyed traveling to destinations like Rehoboth Beach, Gettysburg, and Baltimore with Michael and cherished watching classic TV shows such as All in the Family, Everybody Loves Raymond, Seinfeld, and the Three Stooges on Saturday nights, often accompanied by his favorite cookies (chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin). He also enjoyed listening to German Yodeling, especially Melanie Oesch.
Frank will be remembered for his contributions to education and technology, as well as for his loving family.
