
John Joseph Galica, 82, of North Huntingdon, PA passed away, Saturday, January 25, 2025. Born on November 13, 1942, John was the son of the late Helen Holloman.
John leaves behind his loving wife, Judie, with whom he shared nearly 63 years of marriage. Together, they raised two children, Jeffrey Galica (Jessikah) of Nazareth, PA, and Jonell Taylor (Terre) of North Huntingdon, PA. John loved his five grandchildren: Jonathan, Annabella Galica, and Brandon, Travis, and Mason Taylor and found much happiness in watching them grow.
John served in The United States Army Reserves. After the Army he had a career with ABF for over 25 years before retiring.
John is survived by his siblings: Richard Holloman (Tom), Patty Taylor (Ron), Betty Ann Kuhn (Chuck), Barbara Angelo (Vince), and Francis Duda (Joe). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family who will miss his presence.
John is preceded in death by brothers William and David Holloman and sisters Susan Holloman-Shimek, Donna and Karen Holloman and nephew Ed Kisner.
John, who was affectionately known as “Gus” by his friends and “Pap” by his grandkids, was an avid gardener. He would spend most of the sunlight hours of the late spring and summer in the backyard cultivating and growing the most amazing vegetables. When not in the garden you could find him feeding the squirrels and talking with neighbors and friends. John also found great joy in watching his grandson play baseball.
John’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His memory will be forever cherished by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of crossing his path.
