Regina Catherine Zawada, 93, of North Versailles, PA, passed away peacefully at her home on June 27, 2022. Regina was born on November 22, 1928 in Jeannette, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Karol and Marcyanna (Lipski) Zlotkowski, who were immigrants from Poland. She grew up during the depression and help support her family by working at the local five and dime store. Regina was a loving wife and mother whose family and faith were the center of her life. She and her husband Jerry proudly saw their children through a proper Catholic upbringing and schooling and made sure all enjoyed the benefits of a college education. Regina was a devout parishioner at the St. Robert Bellarmine (Mary, Mother of God) Parish for 55 years. In addition to caring for her husband, children and home, Regina was a constant provider for her family. To this end she took on a variety of work, from being an executive secretary for the Westinghouse Corporation and a tool and die machine operator for the Ringsdorf Corporation, to being a census taker and an eBay entrepreneur. Outside of work, Regina enjoyed her role as a cub scout den mother, partaking in sewing, gardening and baking, doing crossword puzzles and reading and tending bees. She also enjoyed collecting Westmoreland glass. And throughout her life, Regina was a supporter of the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America and the Polish Nation Alliance. She was a huge supporter of the PNA dance group in Wilmerding where she sewed many of the folk costumes. She always celebrated her Polish heritage and traditions making sure they continued into the next generations. Regina is survived by her husband Zdzislaw (Jerry) and her children Maryann (Jan W.) Zawada Ciaston of Fulshear Texas, Edward (Blanca) Zawada of Livermore, California, Steven Zawada of North Versailles, Pennsylvania and Fredrick Zawada of Livermore. Regina is also survived by six grandchildren: Nicole, Jonathan and Julianna Zawada, Augustine Ciaston, Gabrielle (Michael) Ciaston Ostrowski, Grace Ciaston, and her sister Cecilia Miscovich, as well as by many nieces and nephews. Regina was preceded in death by her parents and brother Stanley and by her six sisters: Elizabeth Harney, Sabina, Frances, and Felicia Zlotkowski, Anna Menart, and Bertha Grabowski.

Mass of Christian Burial Saturday 10 am at St Robert Bellarmine Church, Mary Mother of God Parish. Burial will follow at Good Shepherd Cemetery.
