After celebrating her 108th birthday with family and friends, Elizabeth Jordan quietly and peacefully took her final journey to heaven. She was the last of eight children from parents, Mary and Martin Gayda, of Pittsburgh; and the widow of August Jordan, of Duquesne, PA. Elizabeth leaves her loving daughter, Geri Mataya, of Wexford, PA; her two grandsons, Scott Vincent Mataya, Of San Francisco, CA, and Marc James Mataya, Of Charlotte, NC; also surviving are her great-grandchildren, Lindsay Elizabeth Mataya, Luke James Mataya, and Jake Paxton Mataya. She was employed at Shaughnessy Funeral Home in Duquesne and also worked at Carnegie Mellon University for many years, as well as for her daughter at Spa Uptown in Pittsburgh. She enjoyed a long, wonderful life doing what she loved most: working with people, gardening, traveling with her daughter, keeping up her little home. Gone from this life, but never forgotten, by all that knew and loved her.
