Marguerite (Peggy) Delores Stern

Marguerite (Peggy) Delores Stern (86) of Coulter, PA passed away 8-23-2026, surrounded by her loving family.  Born on July 31, 1940, she was the first born of the late James Hutchison and Marguerite Delores Hutchison (McLaughlin).

Peggy was the beloved wife of 63 years to Darrell Franklin Stern Sr.  She was a devoted and cherished mother to Darrell Franklin Stern Jr.(d) (Patricia), Sherry Lee Esasky (Michael), Kim Ann Bilinsky (Alan John), and Lea Marie Stern.  She adored her grandchildren, Michael (Bubba) Esasky, Leo Stern, Andrew John Bilinsky, Adam John Bilinsky(d), Amelia Hope Bilinsky, Lilly Marie Boggs, and Azalea Stern.

Peggy was a proud big sister to her siblings, James Hutchison Jr. (Maureen), Patricia (Patsy) Kulasa (d)(Edward (Ed)(d), Anne Delo (Robert) (d), Nicholas Hutchison (Maggie), and Eileen (Cookie) Carper (Terry).  She was the aunt and great aunt to many great nieces and nephews.

Peggy loved her husband Darrell and all her family dearly.  They went on many motorcycle trips over the years, including Yellowstone and Sturges.  She and Darrell enjoyed watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Pittsburgh Steelers on their matching lazy boy chairs. She was identified by some of her grandchildren as “Motorcycle Grandma” and delighted in playing cards and eating banana popsicles with them.  Peggy was an animal lover.  Her cat Tommy could often be found snuggled up on her lap.  She relished shopping at flea markets, thrift and dollar stores with her daughter Sherry.  She was known for her fabulous cooking and baking, and silly sense of humor.

Peggy will be forever cherished by all her family and friends.
