Kathleen O’Donnell

February 9, 1950 – June 10, 2026

Kathleen O’Donnell, age 76, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on February 9, 1950, Kathleen was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, and dear friend to many. She shared 56 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband, John O’Donnell, whose love and companionship were the foundation of her life.

Kathleen was the proud mother of John P. O’Donnell Jr. (Michelle) and the adoring grandmother of Ashley (Terrance) Johnson. Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her family, creating lasting memories, and caring for those she loved most.

She is also survived by her sister, Deljo Gannon, along with many extended family members, friends, and neighbors who will miss her deeply.

A faithful member of Mary Mother of God Parish in White Oak, Kathleen lived her life guided by faith, kindness, and compassion. She was known for her warm heart, generous spirit, and welcoming home. An exceptional cook and baker, Kathleen delighted in preparing meals for family gatherings and was especially famous for her homemade cookies, baked goods, and her much-loved chicken parmesan. Her kitchen was often the center of family celebrations, where everyone felt welcome and loved.

Kathleen found happiness in the simple pleasures of life—cooking, baking, spending time with loved ones, and making sure everyone around her was cared for. Her family was her greatest accomplishment and the center of her world.

Though her passing leaves a tremendous void, her legacy of love, faith, and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Kathleen will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends forever.

I worked with Kathy (KO) at Verizon. I will always remember how impeccably she dressed. She was such a character. I’m so glad that God let our paths cross. Sending prayers to John and family.

I worked with Kathy (KO) at Verizon. We were tub buddies. We both retired from Verizon at the same time. She was a special lady. Thoughts & prayers. 💔❤️

A smart, kind, feisty woman I worked with at Verizon. KO was small in stature but big in so many ways. She was dressed to the 9’s everyday and had a smile and contagious laugh. I’ll remember our walks on lunch for her a jog as I was 4 to 5 inches taller. To sum her up she was a beautiful ball of fire with a jest for life..

Kathy was a very close friend of Jeannie and I since the 60’s. There are not enough words to express how great a person
she is all the way around. She will be greatly missed by family and close friends and will remain in my heart thinking about all the great times we had with her and lifelong companion John. We grew up together in Garfield and remained very close friends throughout the years. Kathy was a great baker and cook. She made a vast amount of Italian cookies for our daughter’s wedding and placed all on the cookie table at the Washington DC area venue cookie table. (PGH Tradition)
Kathy and John were also in our wedding back in the 70’s.
Kathy is now in God’s heavenly kingdom which is the very best residence to be hands down.

I worked with KO for several years at Verizon in residential collections, I will remember her for her feistiness, laugh, and her smile. May she rest easy with the angels.
