Ed was my first manager when I started in the 90s. Ed was also the best manager I had. Tough but fair. He was also a good friend. I enjoyed helping him with computer knowledge over the years.

I am sorry to hear of Ed’s passing. Ed was a very nice man, and a great electrical engineer.

I was very sorry to hear about the passing of your father, Ed. I worked with him at Bettis in the late 70’s and early 80’s. He was very proud of all 3 of his girls and enjoying talking about you all to me. He loved all of you and your mother, Judy. I’m sorry for your loss.

I just received notice of Ed’s passing. So sorry to hear this. I worked with and for Ed for many years in the Control and Instrumentation Fleet Support Group. He was a friend and a visionary who helped develop major new systems that enhance our nuclear fleet. He was a driving force behind most of the accomplishments we had. His was a consequential life and he will be missed.

Ed graduated Summa Cum Laude as one of the most brilliant engineers I’ve known.
Ed and I shared our EE grad school days at Pitt in a dilapidated office located in a former medical school morgue converted into the University of Pittsburgh Electrical Engineering department. We shared that office with Toby Trygar and George Bogal. George is gone, a brilliant student killed at a very young age in a skiing accident. I lost track of Toby, but Ed frequently corresponded with him throughout the decades. Ed was a loving husband. Ed dedicated his life to caring for Judy throughout her long and painful illness. Judy left Ed with a parting gift – Angel – Eds rambunctious pet terrier. Ed vowed ever to keep Angel at his side as a tribute to his loving wife for as long as he lived. He kept his promise.

We would like to thank everyone who attended my father’s service, posted condolences, or sent flowers. As the sign in book at the service did not request addresses we are unable to send written thank you notes as we had planned. Thank you all for your kind words and gestures during this difficult time-Amy, Lori and Lisa
