James Mark Goldstrohm was called to heaven by the Lord Jesus on December 2, 2025. He joined his bride of 55 years, Rhoda Ann Goldstrohm, in the majesty of eternal life. James was preceded in death by his parents Vernal and Clare Goldstrohm and brother-in-law, William Vines (Trish). He was a proud member of the Donnelly clan, comprised of his many beloved cousins. He is survived by his three children: Claire Pingree, Emily Belchick (Tom), and Paul Goldstrohm (Jennifer); his adoring grandchildren: Raymond, Jonathan, Ryan, Caitlin, Emma, Liam, and Grace; and his endeared sister-in-law Diane Sedita and brother-in-law John Vines (Michelle).
As a steelworker of 35 years, James did not simply make a career, but rather a brotherhood born of the blast furnace of Edgar Thomson. His memories span a lifetime throughout the entire Monongahela Valley. His ardent passions were literature, Hollywood films, and jazz. James loved all people and gave his time and attention to interview everyone he met. His indomitable spirit and positive outlook inspired so very many.
James was an integral member of the Catholic Men’s Fellowship (CMF), where he evangelized through his endless stories. Of his many virtues, humility, passion, and loyalty stand tallest. His enduring faith in Jesus Christ and unconditional love for his family were exceptional. James leaves behind a legacy of love as he was truly the salt of the earth.
