Jeannette M. Ellis

On Monday September 8, 2025. Jeannette age 74, of Swissvale passed away. Daughter of the late Joseph T. and Dorthy A. (Thieman) Ruyechan. Beloved wife of the late Clair I. Ellis. Loving mother of Meridith (Darhl) Stover and Nathan Ellis. Dear grandmother of Ethan Ellis. Sister of Antoninette (late Andrew Scott) Erskine, Yvette (Eugene) Gamble, Susan (late William Sr.) Kevicky, Edward M. Ruyechan, and the late Joseph T. Ruyechan Jr. Sister-in-law of Sandra Kim and Wayne Ellis. Jeanette was President of the Rankin Croatian Home. She was active in so many aspects of the club. These included baking, rolling Sarma, painting the exterior of the building just to name a few… She was also heavily involved with The Rankin Junior Tamburitzans. Both of her children graduated from the group, and her grandson is a current member of RJT. She participated in their many fundraisers up until this past summer. She was one of the original pierogi makers for the group many years ago. We can still remember her being covered in butter “down to her gutchies” as she said at the first sale! She was also RJT’s resident palačinke maker. She passed this duty onto her grandson Ethan this past summer, and he did an outstanding job! Jeannette worked 40+ years at Children Hospital as a nurse, finishing her career in the Pediatric Epilepsy Unit.
