Frank B. Pearsol, III

The North Versailles community mourns the loss of Frank B. Pearsol III, a beloved figure who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 28, 2025. Born in Pittsburgh on April 20, 1941, Frank was the son of the late Frank and Jane (Jenkins) Pearsol. He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Mary Kay Pearsol; his brother, Gilbert J . Pearsol; and his sisters, Vera Jane Jones and Debra Woodward.

Frank’s life was a testament to dedication and service. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1963. During his service, he worked as a clerk-typist, and to supplement his income, he also tended the bar at the Officer’s Club. He shared many great stories about his time at Fort Benning, Georgia. He was honorably discharged in 1965.

Frank’s 28-year tenure as a School Board Director for the East Allegheny School District, as an Office Manager, and 16-year service on the Board of Directors of the North Versailles Sanitation Authority underscores his unwavering commitment to his community. His work as a parts manager for Westmoreland Auto and Ascot Imported Cars further demonstrated his dedication to his profession.

Frank was a passionate soccer and baseball coach, devoting his time to generations of players. His 35-year service as an umpire was a testament to his commitment to youth athletics. But it was his love for Christmas that truly set him apart. He would often dress as Santa Claus, bringing joy and laughter to family and friends.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Elizabeth “Betty” Pearsol; his son, Frank B. Pearsol IV; his grandchildren, Trevor J. Pearsol, (Ashlee) Ian C. Pearsol, (Emily) and Carly N. Pearsol (Dominic); and many cousins, nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

That has stayed with me always and I will never forget you. May you rest eternally in peace and perform all your angel duties to perfection. Frank was a example of what a good guy really is. I remember as a teenager seeing him as a baseball coach and he had those tinted glasses like a boss! I umpired baseball with Frank, he would meet at St Roberts, insist on driving and of course he would work the plate. After the game the very first thing he would do when we got in the car, is call his wife and let her know the game was over and he was on his way home. That says a lot . Good game Mr Pearsol, nice working with you.

Frank, or Mr. Pearsol,, as I always called him, was a terrific person. He was a good coach and a good baseball man. My three sons caught many games in front of him umpiring over their playing careers. I always enjoyed talking with him about baseball, hockey, the school district, whatever. I will always hold the memory of him paying his respects to my dad when he passed.. Condolences to the Pearsol family. RIP Mr. Pearsol.
