On Thursday April 11, 2024, George Henry Evans Jr., 75, a proud Marine and Vietnam Veteran passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Beloved son of the late George Henry Evans Sr., and Ellen Elizabeth Byrnes. Loving father of Tricia Evans and Tammy Barbaro,. Dear grandfather of Theresa Simlick, Anthony Barbaro, and Ellen(Giovanni), Valldejuli, Great grandfather of, Parker Boyd and Anthony Barbaro, Brother of Catherine Fischetti. Also survived by nieces and nephews, Dana O’Leary, Lori Conley, Frankie (Megan) Fischetti, and great nieces and nephews Thomas, Kenneth, Daniel, Kevin, Alaina, Sean, Frankie Jr, Mia, Gianna, Avery, and McKellen. George served our country courageously during the Vietnam War andworked as corrections officer at Western Penitentiary until he retired. George will be missed by all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

Worked with George at Western. I knew him as a quiet but strong man who treated all with respect and dignity. I send my condolences to his family and friends.
To the family of George , like to express my heartfelt sympathy to all, i worked with George at SCIP for 30 years.
George was a very good person and a True Marine , I know he is now on Duty in Heaven guarding the Gate to heaven, as he did while in the Marines and while working at the Penn.
