On Sunday February 4, 2024, Ronald age 83 of Monroeville passed away. Beloved Husband of the late Norma Jean (Ratica) Van Meter. Loving Father of Ronnie (Beth) Van Meter, Randy (Patty) Van Meter, and Regina (Eric) Goodnack. Dear Grandfather of Samantha, Eric, Tyler, Brittney, and Veronica. Great-Grandfather of Henley, Ava, Halston, Hudson, Paislee, Avery, and Addison. Brother of Carol Jean (Tony) Filippino. Ronald loved to be with his family. His kids and grandchildren were what he worked for his whole life. He worked and retired from Westinghouse, and then decided to go back to work as a bus driver. He was always active and on the go. He loved to cook, his specialty was his home fries. And he loved his sweets! He took his grandchildren camping and fishing up at Keystone Lake. He was a very loved pap.

I worked with Ron (I called him Pap) at Silberman’s where he was a security guard at the front door, and I worked the front counter. I have the best memories of him because we were pretty close, he made me laugh and smile every single day! I will always remember him for his love of food, especially the sweets! He always told me, “I’m a hog”….and to this day, I say it all the time! Rest In Peace Pap, You get to spend eternity with Norma, and I know how much you missed her. My condolences to Ronnie, Beth, Brit, and Ronica, and to the rest of the family. 💔
