My husband and I met Sam earlier this year when we visited the museum at Arnold Palmer Airport in Latrobe with my Dad. Sam was in his truck ready to leave when we arrived, but graciously changed his plans and spent quite a bit of time with us talking about the history of the airport, the old planes on display, his military service, the memorials to military veterans, and also about his love of flying. I will remember him for his kindness, good humor, and infectious laugh! We are so sorry to hear of Sam’s passing, but so glad we had the opportunity to spend time with him that day!

Sam and I have known each other since we were little kids. We grew up together on the same street in West Mifflin in times like nothing today, and at our class reunions we would joke and laugh about those days and how the world has changed. Back then, I knew his whole family and saw them almost everyday as I was their newspaper boy. His mom, dad, and brothers were wonderful people and I know Sam made them very proud. I wish his wife Debby, children, and grand kids my sympathies for your great loss. May God bless all of you.
