Leonard M. Elias, 88, of Jefferson Hills, passed away peacefully with his devoted wife at his side at Jefferson Hospital (AHN) Saturday, October 7, 2023. He was born February 12, 1935, in Braddock, to the late Rudolph and Mary (Jarusinsky) Elias. He was the beloved husband of Donna (Napier, Thompson) Elias; loving stepfather of Paul (Heidi) Thompson and Stephen Thompson; loving pappap of Gabrielle, Madeline, Katelyn, and Lauren. Leonard was preceded in death by sisters, Marie (late husband John) Flynn, Ethel (late husband Moe) Kinchloe, Irene (late husband Don) Gibbons, Martha (late husband William) Lauris; also preceded in death by brothers Rudolph (late wife Florine Luckett) and Robert Elias. He was “Uncle Leo, Len, or Lenny” to many nieces and nephews. He was a member of St. Thomas à Becket in Jefferson Hills (past member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church in East McKeesport). He was an Air Force veteran and served in Korea in peacetime. He retired from US Steel Clairton Coke Works after 30 years as an Analytical Instrument Technician. He was a member of the American Legion Post 701 of White Oak. He and Donna enjoyed square dancing for many years, and he played harmonica and sang in jam sessions at local senior centers. He shared his painted works of art with his family. He could fix anything electronic. He also enjoyed crossword puzzles, the Pirates and Steelers.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, Mary Mother of God Parish.
Burial will follow at New St. Joseph Cemetery with military honors.
