Helen A. (Fedor) Mozeik

Helen A. (Fedor) Mozeik, of Rankin, born May 26, 1922 was 101 years old. She passed away very peacefully with family at her side. A woman of strong Christian faith, she entered into the Glory of Heaven just after 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 3, 2023.

Helen is remembered for many reasons, but is surely best known for two things. First and foremost, Helen was committed to volunteer church work in many capacities at Christ Lutheran Church, Forest Hills. Her dedication to serving within the church has been passed down to her surviving family members and their children. Helen was also known all around town for her wedding cakes. From the lighted, colored waterfalls cascading down the multiple cake tiers to her famous icing and layered cherry-nut filling, Helen was proud to be a part of the happy couple’s day and put a smile on their faces as they cut the first piece. There are so many wedding albums out there that show her cakes in their pictures.

Helen was married for more than 70 years to the late Arthur G. Mozeik of Rankin. Art and Helen were very instrumental in helping many young people to financially get started on life’s journey. In the second story of their home, they generously provided housing accommodations at substantially discounted rent to multiple newlywed couples as well as newly hired teachers.

Helen is survived by her four children and their families, nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.  Arthur (Patricia) Mozeik [Annmarie(Christopher) Horne and Laura (Christopher) Cipriano], Beverly (DeWayne) Pavlik [Tony Michael (Beth) Repic, Deanna (Jake) Babyak, and Crystal (Kevin) Reed], Carole (Gregory) Stanley [Wayne (Stephanie) Stanley and Craig (Laura) Stanley], David (Nancy) Mozeik [John Mozeik and Kelly Mozeik].

I have such fond memories of your mom at Christ Lutheran. May each of you find comfort in knowing she is with the Lord. Hold tight to all the fun family time you had all these years with your mom.

My fondest memory of my Aunt Tiny was the beautiful cake she made for my bridal shower in Pittsburgh. She loved Jesus and my deepest sympathy to all my cousins. She is in the glory of heaven now..

My deepest condolences on the loss of a wonderful woman. Mrs. Mozeik was my very first babysitter back in the 1950s, and I fondly remember watching Paul Shannon’s Adventure Hour with her daughters Beverly and Carole. May the fond memories of this fine woman guide family and friends in this time of sadness.

Our deepest condolences for the loss of a wonderful woman who exemplified the love of Jesus, family and friends. She made us the most beautiful wedding cake!, big enough to feed and army and the most delicious I have ever tasted. We were all blessed by her presence
