On August 8, 2023, Joseph (Joe) Kozamchak passed away peacefully in his home at the age of 76. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ann. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer, son-in-law, Dan, grandson, Eli and his wife, Bethany, grandson, Gabe, and two great-grandchildren, Robert James and Margot Joan. In addition to his family, Joe will be deeply missed by his loving and close circle of friends, Alacia and Nathan, Becky Drew and Ben, and Regis. Joe was a man of many gifts – intelligence, kindness, and a great sense of humor. But his greatest gift was his unique ability to connect with people. Joe dedicated the latter part of his life to using that gift to help others. The life-transforming impact of Joe’s role as a trusted support for the many people he helped in his community cannot be overstated. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Such a sudden and difficult loss for us and for all that knew and loved Joe. He’s been a part of Nathan and my lives for the last 23 years. He became our family when he and my mom, Cindy, were together, he held Nathan on the day he was born and has been a kind and wise father/grandfather figure ever since and for that we are incredibly grateful. If you knew Joe, you know he found purpose in helping the people around him. No matter what you needed or what time of night you called, he was there. He was a teacher and a giver. My condolences to all that loved Joe. He gave us all a gift, just in who he was, and we’ll always cherish and hold that close to our hearts. Im sure he’s laughing and hugging my mom and their special dog Chief,. He’ll be watching down on all of us, with the same loving guidance he gave when he was here. Give my mom a huge hug for me Joe! Love, Alacia and Nathan
My heart is crushed…we have been friends almost 50 years.
Love you,Joe,will miss you,it had been so long since I got to hear your strength and hope, I know I will again,God hold you, Friend
Joe was my sponsor for 23 years. The knowledge of the Big Book he shared with me saved my life. I will be forever grateful to him
Yes, Joe was also instrumental in saving my life. I first approached Joe, because his spiritual way approached me. I do not know if Joe conscientously directed his spiritual strength towards those in need. However, I am positive Joe invited God to use him as a beacon. Joe had a gift of permitting the world to unfold naturally. He had practiced waiting on God and had emphatically found, when waiting on God is practiced, the waiting is not long or arduous. The waiting is the adventure of Promise. Joe has gotten his promise. I miss Joe, but happy for his arrival home. There is going to be a celebration memorial for Joe at the Pitcairn Club Above (426 Broadway Blvd) on Sunday September 3, 2023 from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
