Bernice Nadine Moore

Bernice Nadine Moore was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on January 20, 1937, to David Moore and Emma Hageter. She lived in the Pittsburgh area most of her life before moving to Plano, Texas in 1986 and then to Austin, Texas in 2003. She passed away in Austin, Texas on September 11, 2022 at the age of 85. Bernice was a graduate of Scott High School in Braddock, Pa. in 1955. In her lifetime she held a variety of jobs. For most of her professional career, she worked as an administrative clerk at United States Steel in Homestead, Pa. from 1966 to 1984.  In 1959 she married Albert Egerter of Pittsburgh and had a son, Rick. They divorced in the 1960’s. He preceded her in death in 2009. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them as much as possible. She gave support, sacrifice, and love. She travelled in the United States, not wanting to fly, and visited New York, Washington D.C.,  Colorado, and California to name a few. She enjoyed music and television. Later in life she developed a fondness for bingo. Her smile and laughter were infectious to those around her and made them feel great. In 2002, Bernice had complications from strokes and diabetes that led to her needing nursing home care 24×7. Though she had these disabilities she never gave up her will to live and love for her family. Even through several hospitalizations she fought and pulled through all until going to God on her own terms. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, June Faultz. She is survived by her son Rick Egerter; her former daughter-in law Ronnie Egerter (mother of the Egerter children), her grandchildren – Monica (husband Raymond), Maegan (husband Patrick), Braeden, Miranda, and Ethan; her great-grandchildren- Elijah, Easton, Jordyn, Samuel, and Camryn; nephew Rob Jenkins, nieces – Franny, Loretta, Debbie and Denice; grand and great-grand nieces and nephews, friends, and caregivers of Heritage Duval Gardens who will miss her.
