LaVerne M. Johnston

On Saturday April 18, 2021, LaVerne age 93 of Irwin passed away after a spirited, courageous fight with COVID.
Daughter of the late John and Verna Palicka. Beloved wife of the late Robert “Lefty” Johnston. Loving Mother of John (Pam) Johnston, Cathy Eck, and Bob Johnston.  Dear Grandmother of Katie (Mike) Nardini, David (Bonnie) Johnston, Kim Eck, Christopher (Ashley) Johnston, and Zack (Tori) Johnston. Great Grandmother of Luca, Dom, and Tessa Nardini. Dear and precious Sister of Arline (late Ralph) Miller, Marie (late Andy) Hanscak, and John (Veronica) Palicka. Proud Aunt of many nieces and nephews who thoroughly enjoyed her wit and sense of humor over the years.

LaVerne was a retired employee of the State of Pennsylvania with 45 year’s service in the department of public welfare as a supervisor and Past President of the North Versailles Senior group.

In the end, COVID might have ravaged her body, but it didn’t take away her mind, humor, and spirit.
