Hello! I can’t tell you how sad I am to learn of Larry’s passing. I had the privilege to work with him at the South Park Elementary Center when I served as a paraprofessional. I always found him to be a positive influence around anyone he worked with, and he had an infectious smile! I’m sending a link to a picture I took of him one year when the kids made him a poster. I know your hearts feel empty now, but please know he touched many lives over the years in this land. I pray your hearts will be filled with happier memories of more joyous times. May God bless you on this journey.

  • Ryan Siniawski Posted March 11, 2021 8:14 pm

Larry was my first friend when I was hired at South Park Middle School. I was always the last one to leave the lot settling into a new job and he would stop between rooms to see if I needed help or just a laugh. We had a few bird chasing adventures, inventions for his cart and my labs have never been in better shape.

I was fortunate to meet back up with Larry years later at SP high school and although he battled various health issues, he never lost his optimism, kindness, work ethic and hilarious sense of humor. Larry was an incredibly diligent worker who took pride in his job and would always go out of his way to help others.

I’ll miss our conversations, the occasional leftovers for lunch, impossibly clean fake-dry erase boards and a nearly decade long friend. I’ll enjoy a bottle of red cat tonight and be thinking of him. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Larry was a special guy and whose smile and positive attitude is unforgettable. I met him at Shattuck School in 1975 when we were ‘newbies’ at the school. He was as tough as boiled owl on the football field yet kind and decent always. I loved his Pennsylvanian accent! My heartfelt condolences to all of your wonderful family. Peace and love, brother Larry.

  • Joe Quast Posted March 15, 2021 9:44 am

My family would like to express our condolences to you during this difficult time, but we would also to extend our congratulations on being blessed to have Larry be such a huge part of your lives. He really was a good man. He brought so much joy to SPEC, staff and students alike. He always wanted to make other people laugh, and he was quite successful at it. He always had this smirk on this face that made you think that he knew something! It was so uniquely-Larry. He really was a fun guy to be around, and I know that the building wasn’t the same without him in it. Again, our thoughts and prayers go out to you during this time. That said, I’m pretty sure when Larry was met by the Big Man Upstairs, the first thing Larry said was, “How you doing?” with that Larry smirk on his face! He will be missed!
